Remove USB attached Devices,, killin explorer to do it !!

I have come across this awhile back but thought this would be worthy of note.

Have you ever plugged in a usb drive,, accessed this for data transfer, etc, and then when trying to use the windows feature to safely remove the device, you then get an error message about the device is in use and try to remove later.. what a bunch of crap..

Here is what I do, start Task Manager, click on Show processes for all users, then select explorer.exe and then End Process, this will basically crash out the GUI shell and task bar in the lower right hand window, but don't worry too much that all the desktop items go away, this can easily recreated by using Task Manger which should still be running, Click on File, New Task, and type in explorer.exe, and then OK. This will recreate your desktop, with programs and shortcuts and also restore the task bar again. Now try to remove the USB device using the windows tool to do so.. and this should now work.
